Wed Night Quads report:
Notes: Wow, we had an
early taste of scholastic chess competition on Wednesday Night at
Windward Chess Club, at Windward Mall. Dane Itomura (3 points and Billy
Swarthworth with (2.5 points) both won their Quad sections taking 1st
prize. Second place was take by Gregory Zukeran with (2 points) and in
Quad A Conner Smith and Katie Tanabe took second place with (1.5 points
each) new CXR members Megan Daviau and Noelle Synder got their first
taste of CXR rated battles and we expect to see them to keep

We have signed up 95 CXR members so far, with 65 having renewed
memberships currently. Russ Mollot President of CXR has lower the
scholastic CXR membership cost ($6) for scholastic players to
promote the new CXR Hawaii Interscholastic League. Scholastic members
will see their usual CXR ratings and as part of the HICL they will be
listed as well with their current rating starting at 1200 and if they
play in the Sept 25 tournament they will show with their new rating
after each HCF Scholastic (HICL) tournament, the top rated player will
earn a special award for their efforts in making to the top of the HICL
